WHAT DO SPECIALTY LICENSE PLATES DO FOR THE ARTS?

Well in Tennessee, specialty plates provide more than 70% of state funding for the arts! While a portion of the $35 fee for any specialty plate goes to support the arts, a full 90% of all arts plate purchases go directly to the Tennessee Arts Commission. You can help support the Arts in our community by applying for a Specialty Arts License Plate.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT OUR COMMUNITY?

Funding for the Tennessee Arts Commission helps support programs like the Student Ticket Subsidy. This program helps children who cannot afford a $6 Season for Youth Student Matinee ticket to a Clarence Brown Theatre show for the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre alongside their peers.

Want to know more about this program? Applications and information are available in the Clarence Brown Theatre lobby. We also encourage you to browse the Tennesseans for the Arts website, and learn of other ways you can support Arts and Culture in East Tennessee, and throughout the state. Be an Advocate!
