One of the easiest ways you can help the Clarence Brown Theatre is to donate today. Whether it’s clothes, furniture, paint, or a monetary donation of $1 or $10,000, no amount is too small. Each and every donation helps us fulfill our mission.
Did you enjoy Peter Oyloe as “Hank” in Hank Williams: Lost Highway? What about the unforgettable Dale Dickey as “Mrs. Lovett” in Sweeney Todd? Donations to the CBT Artists Endowment enable us to invite theatre professionals from across the globe right to our stages and classrooms. And not just professional actors you see on stage, but professional designers, directors, and stage managers that work behind the scenes with our undergraduate and graduate students, enhancing the training of their artistic career paths in live theatre.
You may not know that only 26% of our costs, including costumes, lighting, scenery and actor salaries, is covered by ticket sales. Donations to the Theatre Enrichment Fund ensure our ticket prices remain reasonable and accessible for all. Your support directly benefits our ongoing operational needs so we can continue to make your theatre-going experience an unforgettable one.
From the bright-eyed freshman declaring a major in theatre to the seasoned actor taking their final bow on stage before graduating, donations to the CBT Society Scholarship Fund have supported these promising students over the years. Honing their craft, whether in the costume or scene shops or on the stage, this scholarship has afforded many students the opportunity to focus on their training rather than juggling a part-time job with their studies.
Have a nice, vintage suitcase, antique furniture, or 1900s uniform lying around in your attic or storage room? We’ll take them off your hands! The Clarence Brown Theatre Costume and Props Shops are always looking for In-Kind donations of antique and vintage items for upcoming productions.
Out shopping during the holiday sales? Think about picking up an item from our company management Wish List for our guest artist housing needs.
Each and every gift is appreciated and will be used to help advance our mission, train the next generation of theatre artists, and bring the highest quality professional theatre to the Knoxville community and beyond. Thank you for your continued support!
