The Tennessee Arts Commission (TAC) was established in 1967 to encourage presentation in the performing, visual, and literary arts and to increase interest in Tennessee’s cultural heritage. Today the TAC provides support for arts initiatives across the state through a number of programs and services. Funded primarily through specialty license plates, the TAC uses most of its funds to support a series of arts grants.
The Clarence Brown Theatre is a proud partner with the Tennessee Arts Commission and a recipient of several TAC grants. This funding support helps bring guest artists to the Clarence Brown’s stages and UT’s classrooms as well as assisting to support our general operations.
We encourage you to find out more about the Tennessee Arts Commission and the programs and services it offers.
