Melissa has been the Costume Shop Supervisor at the Clarence Brown Theatre since 2008. She oversees and facilitates all aspects of costume production, wardrobe, wigs, and makeup for the Clarence Brown. Previously, she worked in New York for 10 years as a Milliner, Crafts Artisan, Dyer and Assistant Designer. With Lynne Mackey Studio, she made hats for Broadway shows including Monty Python’s Spamalot, Wicked, Mamma Mia, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Kiss Me Kate and Fiddler on the Roof. Other credits include: Glimmerglass Opera, New York City Opera, Washington National Opera, Metropolitan Opera, American Ballet Theatre, Arena Stage, and the Shakespeare Theatre. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and has interned with the Juilliard School.
