A multi-instrumentalist, Rachel is best known, perhaps, for her performance on the syringe on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. She has performed at such venues as the National Gallery of Art, Strathmore Music Center, Bonnaroo, and the Bluebird Café. Locally she has performed with Farr Horizons, Knoxville Early Music Project, InterAct Children’s Theatre for the Deaf, Hudson K, and The Band of Humans. Previously she was involved with student productions of The Merchant of Venice and Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck). In addition to being a musician/music director for The Story of Opal, Rachel was also a musician in last year’s A Christmas Carol. Rachel is a certified sign language interpreter at UT and has often interpreted for productions at the Clarence Brown Theatre. In her other life, she occasionally levitates as a magician’s assistant.
