Jennifer Barnett is originally from Greeneville, Tennessee, attended Emory & Henry College in Virginia and received her Master’s Degree in voice from Indiana University. Her roles while at Indiana included Ms. Jessel, Despina, and Susanna. Ms. Barnett has appeared with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra in Broadway Romance (2015), Mozart’s Requiem (2010), Carmina Burana (2007), Tri-Cornered Hat (2004), Chamber Music of America (2009), and in Mozart’s Impressario (2006). Ms. Barnett performed Verdi’s Requiem (2017), Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (2013) and Carmina Burana (2014) with the Symphony of the Mountains, joined the Young Musicians Debut Orchestra during a two week tour of China (2012), and has previously sung with Asheville Lyric Opera (Adele in Die Fledermaus, 2014), the Bangor Symphony Orchestra (2011, 2014) and with the Oak Ridge Symphony (2007). She is currently employed by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra as the Director of Education & Community Partnerships and she serves as co-chair of the Leadership Committee for Education and Community Engagement for the League of American Orchestras. Ms. Barnett is excited to be making her debut with CBT.
