Johnna Allen Tavianini – Johnna is thrilled to be returning to the Clarence Brown Theatre, after having been seen on stage as the Old Lady and the Hooker in last season’s production of Violet. Johnna is an Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre at Ball State University, where she was recently awarded the College of Fine Arts Dean’s Creative Endeavor Award, for outstanding professional merit in her field. She works along-side two-time Tony Award winning actress and colleague, Sutton Foster as well as Broadway music director Michael Rafter, creating Ball State’s Senior Musical Theatre Cabaret, which performs annually at Joe’s Pub in New York City. She is also the Artistic Director of the Discovery New Musical Theatre Festival, produced by Ball State. Johnna holds a bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance from Simpson College, Indianola, IA, and a master’s degree, also in Voice Performance, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and National Association of Teachers of Singing.
